ABOUT US
Dark Matter (usually spelled with backwards Rs as seen in the header) is an American modern rock project. We are determined to bring rock back to the mainstream. We play mostly originals as well as covers. MEMBERS • Hunter Daniel Bruton (vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, harmonica, violin, accordion, melodica, mandolin, songwriting; 2011-present) MEMBER BIOS Hunter Daniel Bruton is the lead singer and songwriter for Dark Matter. He picked up the piano starting at age three, and would later teach himself guitar as his other main instrument. He wrote his first song at the age of ten and has been writing ever since. His roots are in psychedelic rock music as he was exposed to the Grateful Dead when he was young. Since then he has also expanded his tastes to other forms of rock as well as synthesizer-driven punk and the blues. He started Dark Matter in 2011 as a solo project and released his first solo album under the Dark Matter name. The band features a rotating lineup, with Bruton as the frontman. PAST MEMBERS • Timmy Burger (drums; September 2012-April 2013) • Ben Cohn (bass; September 2012-June 2013) • Bailey Fernandez (bass, guitar, keyboards, mandolin, songwriting; June 2013-May 2014) • Harris K. (drums, percussion; April 2013-May 2014) • Nate Ray (guitar, backing vocals; September 2012-July 2013)
